This encaustic workshop will allow both beginner and experienced participants to develop fundamental skills and extend previous techniques while creating unique artworks using pharmaceutical quality bee’s wax. An introduction to encaustic, safety, materials, tools and equipment will be followed by a demonstration including:
melting/fusing, colour mixing, texturing/layering, collage application, image transfers and more… Participants will be able to experiment with selected techniques creating unique cards and prints on Japanese papers and paintings on birch panels.
All materials will be provided and participants will have access to collage materials,
stencils, image transfers, pan pastels and pieces of scrap metal. Join us as we venture
into the exciting world of wax.
